The concrete road bed of the 1920s metal-truss auto bridge over the Santa Clara River at Castaic Junction was swept downriver during the St. Francis Dam Disaster of March 12-13, 1928. It's seen here in 1980. Contributor Don Ray can be seen in the photograph.
