Saugus Train Station Moves
To Heritage Junction

Tuesday, June 24, 1980: The 1887 Saugus Train Station crosses the Newhall Creek, between 13th Street and Lyons Avenue (?), as it makes its 2½-mile journey north on San Fernando Road from its original location in Saugus to Heritage Junction Historic Park, home of the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society.The historical society, then just 4½ years young, organized a massive community effort to save the station from the Southern Pacific Railroad's wrecking ball.
