Oil-Gas-Water Separator
Placerita Canyon, California
[STARBUCK-WALKER INDEX]
Frank Walker's oil-gas-water separator, which he used to extract "Placerita White Oil" from
four wells on his Placerita Canyon property (now part of Placerita Canyon state park). Displayed
at the 1876 Philadelphia Exposition, the white oil was so clear a newspaper could be read through it,
and it could be burned without being distilled (though it smoked and stank).
