About the Author

Dr. Sol Taylor has been collecting coins since 1937. President of the Society of Lincoln Cent Collectors (SLCC), Dr. Taylor is the author of "The Standard Guide to the Lincoln Cent," now in its fourth edition, as well as "The Standard Guide to Love Tokens," and he is a contributor to Yeoman's "Guide Book of United States Coins" (The Red Book).

A retired college professor who holds a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California, Dr. Taylor writes a weekly columnn on a wide variety of numismatic topics for The Signal newspaper of Santa Clarita, Calif. He lives in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
