Arrow Straightener
Newhall

This unusual double arrow straightener (unusual in that it's double) was found by Russell Wonderly of Bakersfield along the train tracks in Newhall in approx. 1984. According to Mr. Wonderly, it is a black stone (possibly steatite), 3 1/2 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide. It is flat underneath. Extending from each notch (in which arrows are rolled until straight) are small lines — 20 from the long notch and 14 from the small notch. The purpose of the lines is unknown.
