San Francisco Chronicle (newspaper),
San Francisco, Cal.
Friday, May 15, 1874.
This article was written by San Francisco Chronicle correspondent George Beers. On May 14, 1874 Beers accompanied the sheriff's posse that ultimately captured the outlaw Tiburcio Vasquez at the home of Greek George Caralambas on
the Rancho La Brea (now West Hollywood). Beers shot Vasquez as the outlaw tried to escape out of a rear window from the house.
