Joan A. Monson, Realtor


Joan Agnes Monson, a 40-plus year resident of Santa Clarita, Calif., passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the age of 76. She was born in Rock Island, Ill., on September 30, 1936.

Joan was a Realtor, but more importantly, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a grandma to many more than her own grandchildren. Joan touched everyone she met. She was a mother that would do anything for her children or grandchildren to make them happy or to take a sad face away.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Monson; her father, Charles Byron Deadman; her mother, Ellen Deadman; and her brother, Harry Deadman. She is survived by her brothers: Mark (Jan) Deadman of Madison, WI and Charles (Nancy) Deadman of Madison, WI; her sons: Ken Monson of Acton, CA and Scott (Julie) Monson of Houston, TX; her daughter, Kim (Keith Mulker) Monson of San Pedro, CA; her grandchildren: Nicole (Bart) Heard of San Marcos, CA, Kevin Monson of Acton, CA, Justin, Kyle, and Peyton Monson of Houston, TX, Ryan and Eric Mulker of San Pedro, CA; and her great-granddaughter, Alicia Mae Heard of San Marcos, CA.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Hills, located at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 N. Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321.

Joan and her beloved soul mate and husband, Ken, are together once again. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
