Eugene Stenson II

Eugene Stenson II was born on July 15, 1943 in Peoria, IL to Eugene and Geraldine Stenson.

Eugene accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Baptist Church in Peoria, IL. He attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Eugene relocated to California in 1967, where he met and married Naomi Pryor in 1990.

In 1997, he retired from Nissan Corp as the first African American Supervisor of Parts Distribution from overseas to dealerships throughout the United States.

In 1999, he moved to Santa Clarita, CA. Prince Eugene's ministry was to mentor young men to be all they could be — to impart in others the values of life.

Gene, affectionately known as "Gino" by his friends and family, loved tennis, jazz, history, cooking, all sports, fine arts, hosting cookouts, and making floral arrangements.

He departed this life on March 22, 2014 at 9:00am, 9:38am, and 10:00am at Olympia Hospital in Los Angeles, CA with his wife of 23 years, Naomi Stenson and his family by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Naomi Stenson of Santa Clarita, CA; two daughters, Felicia Yvonne Stenson from Concord, CA and Minci Sekou Stenson from Santa Clarita, CA; one son, Darin Christopher Pryor from Atlanta, GA; one granddaugther, Imani Pryor.

He leaves behind two brothers, John (Arie) Stenson and Caesar Stenson; three sisters, Mary Frances Turner, Yvonne (Rudolph) Booth, and Roberta Marshall; his mother-in-law, Carrie B. Farley of San Jose, CA; three sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Douglas Norvell; and his parents, Eugene and Geraldine Stenson.
