Tony Newhall of The Signal and Jackie Storinksy, publisher of The Clarion, judge a speech contest at American Legion Post 507 on Spruce Street, believed to be early 1971.

The Clarion operated out the first floor of the old courthouse building at San Fernando Road and Market Street. The Signal was located one block south on 6th Street. (The Newhall portion of San Fernando Road was renamed Main Street in 2007.)
