This year's performance of our youth play, Owl
and the Bear, will take place on Saturday, May
6, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

The Owl and the Bear is based on a story told
by Chumash storytellers Ted and Dennis
Garcia. I adapted it as a play with the gracious
permission of Ted Garcia.
The story explains why Owl has large bulging
eyes and a short beak, and why she only comes
out at night. The story also demonstrates how
vanity and bear hugs can be dangerous.
In addition to the performance, which starts at
7:00, the museum and gift shop will be open
